Hickory Mountain 10k/50k Trail Race

We’re just a few weeks away from this amazing combination of trail races at DuPont Forest State Park on Saturday, October 1st (the 10k) and Sunday, October 2nd (the 50k). There’s no better place in Western North Carolina for trail running than DuPont Forest and early October is the perfect time for great weather and awesome scenery.

From the race website:

Welcome to race weekend at DuPont State Forest (we are in close proximity to Asheville, Brevard and Hendersonville.) The Hickory Mountain 10K Trail Run takes place Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 9:00 am. The DuPont State Forest 50K Trail Run takes place Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 7:30 am. Both runs consist of challenging single track, double, and fire roads. We hope to see you race weekend. All race proceeds go directly to DegreeMap, a 501c-3 helping students apply to college and secure scholarship opportunities.
