Results of the PB & J 5k – Rugby Middle School – Hendersonville, NC – May 1, 2010

It was a wonderful PB & J 5k this morning at Rugby Middle School in Hendersonville. Weather was mostly cloudy with sunshine peeking out now and again but generally great conditions for a race when things started at 9:00 AM. Lots of friendly, helpful volunteers at registration and manning the cross-country course to ensure runners went the right way. All in all a very well-run race and a fun, gently rolling course which was more than 90% grass, a little bit of dirt trail and virtually no pavement.

It was great to see so many kids come out to participate in this event. And true to its name, the race featured PB & J sandwiches as part of the post-race food and refreshment offering.

Congratulations to first overall finisher Thomas Cason and first overall female Kendall Toineeta (in the 10-12 age group – awesome!).

A big shout out to Teddy Park – nice to finally meet you and congrats on a fourth overall finish.
