Results of Fletcher Park - Hands On - Be Active - Reindeer Run - Sunday, December 6, 2009

There was a pretty good turnout for this race considering it was its first year and it wasn’t thoroughly communicated through all of the typical media.  It was well-organized, but there are two things that were certain to get some people a little frustrated.  First, the brochure and the registration page at Active.com said the race started at 1:00 PM.  But at the race site, they told everyone it started at 1:30 (which it did).  That’s a no-no.  Second, this was partially a trail/cross-country course and it was not described that way.  And it had a challenging (but short – maybe 50-75 yards) stretch through a corn field (with stalk remnants about a foot tall).

Having said all that it was a lot of fun but the course definitely had an impact on the finishing times.  There were 121 finishers.  Congratulations to Curtis Rowe as the first overall finisher (19:53) and to Cynthia Griffin as the first female (and 3rd overall at 21:03).
